Tap to open
Tap a tile to open it. The numbers tell you how many mines are nearby, and empty tiles clear a whole patch at once, just like you remember. Every safe tile you find adds to your score.
Head further out
The further you get from the start, the more each tile is worth, and the more mines you'll run into. There's almost always a safe move if you look closely, so going deep is about reading the board, not guessing.
Keep it, or risk it
Cash Out is always one tap away. Stop whenever you like and your points are yours for good. And if you do hit a mine, you still keep half, so a great run is never wiped out in one go.
The further you go, the better it gets.
Close to home it's a gentle warm-up. Out at the edges it gets genuinely tense, and that's exactly where the big points are. The deepest tiles are worth far more than the easy ones near the start, so it always pays to keep exploring.
- Stakes that climb. Mines start out rare and slowly get more common the further you wander.
- Bigger rewards out deep. A single far-out tile can be worth many times one back near home.
- Skill, not luck. Tuned so you can almost always think your way forward, never stuck on a coin flip.

I’m Francisco Martínez, the solo developer behind SAPPER. I wanted to give Minesweeper a different question: not ‘Can I clear the board?’ but ‘How far dare I go?’ I built it around a quiet board, tactile feedback, and the choice to stop while you’re ahead.

What is SAPPER?
SAPPER is a push-your-luck take on Minesweeper. It plays by the rules you already know, but the board never ends: the further out you go, the more each tile is worth, and the more likely it hides a mine. You decide when to cash out. It's playable free in your browser at playsapper.com, and available for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Can I play SAPPER in my browser?
Yes. Today's daily board is playable free at playsapper.com, with no sign-up and no download. It is generated from the date itself, so the browser draws the exact same board the app draws, scored by the same rules. Endless play, streaks, statistics, Game Center and offline play are in the app.
How does the daily board work?
Every day, everyone in the world plays the exact same board and gets one attempt. It resets at midnight UTC. In the browser your run is saved as you play, so reloading picks it back up rather than starting over. Cash out to bank your score; step on a mine and you keep half.
Is SAPPER a Wordle for Minesweeper?
In spirit, yes. Like Wordle, there is one puzzle a day, it is the same for everyone, you get one try, and the result is made to share. The game underneath is different: instead of guessing a word you clear an infinite Minesweeper board and decide when to stop and bank your score. Hit a mine and you keep half. The board changes at midnight UTC.
Is there a leaderboard?
One shared board for everyone, at playsapper.com. Web players post under a name they type; app players appear under their Game Center name with a verified mark. The server checks every score by replaying the run's moves, so nothing on the board is taken on trust. The app also keeps its own Game Center leaderboards.
How is it different from classic Minesweeper?
The rules are the same, but instead of one fixed grid you explore an infinite board. Mines get more common and points grow the further you travel, so every safe tile is a choice: bank what you have, or push a little deeper. That risk-reward loop gives it a light roguelike flavor on top of the classic puzzle.
Is SAPPER free?
Yes. The daily board is free for everyone, forever, in the browser and in the app, with no ads. If you want unlimited play, the app lets you unlock Endless once — a single purchase, no subscription. The unlock only ever adds more game; it never gives an advantage on the daily board.
What devices does the app run on?
iPhone, iPad and Mac. It needs iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS 15 or newer. One purchase covers all your devices, and iCloud keeps your stats and streak in sync between them.
